Recent bacterial lab tests of water from two locations in the stream running through Aston Clinton Park have confirmed that the water quality meets high standards, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors

The water samples were tested for three key bacterial indicators: Total Coliforms, E.coli, and Intestinal Enterococci. These indicators are essential for assessing water quality and determining its suitability for recreational use.

Test Results:

Location 1:

  • Total Coliforms: 76 cfu/100ml
  • E.coli: 2 cfu/100ml
  • Intestinal Enterococci: 1 cfu/100ml

Location 2:

  • Total Coliforms: 49 cfu/100ml
  • E.coli: 1 cfu/100ml
  • Intestinal Enterococci: 0 cfu/100ml

These results indicate that the water quality in the park's stream is well within the standards set by the European Union for inland bathing waters. Specifically, for E.coli, the EU standard for Excellent quality is up to 250 cfu/100ml, and for Intestinal Enterococci, it is up to 100 cfu/100ml. Both locations significantly surpass these benchmarks, ensuring a high level of safety for park visitors engaging in activities near the stream.

We remain dedicated to regular monitoring and testing to ensure the continued quality of our natural resources. Visitors can enjoy the park with confidence, knowing that the water meets rigorous safety standards.
