MVAS
Moveable Vehicle Activated Signs (MVAS) are electronic signs that are triggered when approaching vehicles exceed a set speed limit. These signs are an effective traffic calming measure, designed to promote road safety and raise driver awareness of speeding.
MVAS units display the legal speed limit when a vehicle approaches at excessive speed, serving as a visual warning to encourage safer driving behaviour.
Aston Clinton Parish Council currently owns two MVAS units, including a solar-powered unit installed in June 2024 and funded by a grant from the Wendover and Villages Community Board, a division of Buckinghamshire Council.
MVAS signs are moved between various locations around the village to deter speeding and collect valuable traffic data. The data recorded includes vehicle speeds and is used to support traffic planning and inform enforcement considerations.
Speed data will be shared on this page after it has been presented at the next available Parish Council meeting.
